The Harbour
Northport Harbour is home to Prince Edward Island’s
finest fishing fleet, comprised of more than eighty inshore fishing vessels.
The mainstay of the economy in the area is lobster fishing. Crab, herring, scallop, mackerel, oysters and mussels are also caught as part of the local
fishery. Local fishers take great pride in their harbour and their boats. Lobster fishing opens for the season on May 1st and ends on June 30th. Northport Harbour is located in
Cascumpeque Bay, home to what is said to be the worlds finest oyster.
There are many opportunities to talk with locals and get a first hand look at life in a fishing village.
The Marina
Traveling by boat? Northport Pier has a full service Marina, located in
Cascumpeque Bay, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Marina offers showers, washrooms and laundry facilities for boaters.
Also located on site are a
restaurant, inn,
shopping, and many other amenities. Located nearby is the town of
Alberton, where boaters can replenish supplies. See a

Location
Northport is a deep water commercial harbour. The port remains ice free from April 15 through to mid December.
It is located on Cascumpeque Bay in the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the North Side of Prince Edward Island. Please see
